IP Training: Intersection of Infection Preventionists and Control Presented in partnership with LeadingAge Iowa June 25, 2024 Who Should Attend: Infection Preventionists, Directors of Nursing, Culinary and Nutrition Services. In recent years, the importance of infection prevention and control strategies in nursing homes has grown significantly. Increased regulatory scrutiny on food safety and sanitation requires infection preventionists to play a critical role in preventing foodborne illness. Maintaining safe and sanitary food handling practices is essential to prevent foodborne illnesses. Workforce shortages and modernized household living models have expanded food services beyond just the culinary department. Individuals in nursing and activity roles may be the primary servers for resident meal and snack times. Which is why all staff must have adequate training and expertise in appropriate food safety and sanitation. In addition, regulations require that long-term care staff know procedures for receiving outside food brought into nursing homes. This webinar aims to equip infection preventionists with the necessary steps to collaborate with food service leaders, staff, and personnel from other departments. By fostering collaboration, all staff can play a vital role in preventing foodborne illnesses. Registration Fees:
