This 8-week webinar series emphasizes skill building for serving effectively as the MDS/RAI Coordinator. New or seasoned MDS staff will improve mastery of the MDS and detailed coding implications for ensuring proper reimbursement, accurate Quality Measures, and survey preparedness.

September 28 - New Topic: The Only Constant is Change: Preparing for October 1, 2023

The revised Resident Assessment Instrument and MDS Item Sets (v1.18.11) will become effective for assessments with an ARD of 10/01/2023 and after. This session will review the new and revised data elements, MDS steps for assessment, and supporting documentation requirements while evaluating the impact on care planning, discharge planning, and Quality Measures.

Projected Learning Outcomes/Course Objectives: At the conclusion of each session, the learner will: 

1.Identify new and revised MDS data elements effective 10/01/2023

2.Consider how facility processes for gathering and reporting accurate patient data may be impacted
