Managing Infectious Diseases Common in LTC

This session is part of a 8-week webinar series emphasizes skill building for the Post-Acute Care Infection Preventionist with a focus on establishing and managing an effective IPC program in the SNF/LTC/AL setting. This session will discuss infectious diseases that are common in the post-acute care setting with strategies for managing these disease processes.

Projected Learning Outcomes/Course Objectives: At the conclusion of each session, the learner will:

1. Identify some of the most common infectious diseases of interest to IP in post-acute setting

2. Identify associated pathogens for the most common infectious diseases

3. Describe the diagnosis, transmission, clinical presentation, and infection prevention and control measures for some the most common infectious diseases
