SALSA Training Program A 2-Day LeadingAge Connecticut SALSA Training & Leadership Development Course August 12 | 9:00 am to 4:00 pm • August 13 | 9:00 am to approx. Noon
About: This two-day course is designed specifically for Supervisors of Assisted Living Services Agencies (SALSAs) and RN designees working in Assisted Living and Life Plan Communities. Whether you're new to the SALSA role or looking to strengthen your regulatory knowledge and leadership skills, this program will provide the clarity and confidence you need.
We encourage attendees to bring their organization’s policies, procedures, and real-life questions for discussion. This is a unique opportunity to compare approaches, troubleshoot challenges, and leave with actionable insight.
Agenda: Day 1: August 12 | 9:00 am to 4:00 pm • Introduction to Managed Residential Communities (MRCs) and ALSA • SALSA role definition and responsibilities • Staffing requirements, roles, and on-call expectations • RCA regulations • Survey readiness and licensing • Key regulatory definitions • Resident Bill of Rights and Ombudsman Program • Clinical assessments and service plans • Mandatory reporting
Day 2: August 13 | 9:00 am to approx. Noon • Coordination of care • Employee and Service Coordinator requirements • In-service training and continuing education • Resident records and documentation • Quality assurance practices • Governing authority roles
