Every resident in long-term care has a story worth preserving. This webinar explores how recognizing and sharing residents' life stories can enhance the care experience and foster deeper connections. Learn practical strategies—like legacy journals, storytelling, and personalized engagement—that help caregivers honor residents’ rich histories and contributions. By valuing each individual’s journey, caregivers can create a more meaningful and person-centered care environment.

Event Objectives: • Recognize the value of legacy in long-term care and understand the importance of capturing and preserving residents’ personal histories. • Identify the impact of honoring legacy on resident well-being and caregiver engagement. • Implement practical strategies for legacy preservation and develop programs such as legacy journals, oral histories, and personalized memory boards including how interdisciplinary teams can integrate storytelling into daily care practices.

Speaker Bios: Renee Kinder, Executive Vice President of Clinical Services Renee Kinder, MS, CCC-SLP, RAC-CT, is the Executive Vice President of Clinical Services at Broad River Rehab. In addition to her leadership role, she is a regular contributor to McKnight's Long Term Care News through her Rehab Realities blog. Kinder brings her expertise to several prestigious organizations, including serving on the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s (ASHA) Healthcare and Economics Committee. She is also a faculty member of the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and provides advisory support to the American Medical Association’s (AMA) Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) Editorial Panel. Kinder is also a member of the AMA Digital Medicine Payment Advisory Group.
