adiness; staff training priorities; and health inspection implementation st
rategies with case examples.

This session will discuss essentials of the MDS and
Medicare for the DON to develop key skills for overseeing the RAI process.
Action items for the DON related to ensuring QM accuracy, clinical document

SEPTEMBER 14 - Essential Resources for the DON
This sess
ion will discuss essential resources and reports for the DON including: CMS
regulatory resources; RAI, Quality Measure (QM), Quality Reporting Program
, and 5 Star manual resources; Standards of Care resources; policy, form an
d audit tool resources; and advanced credentialling resources.
SEPTEMBER 21 - Lead
ership and Management
This session will introduce key concept
s in leadership & management for the DON including the skills necessary
to be an effective leader and manager, leadership styles, leadership princ
iples to effectively lead and manage the nursing team, and strategies for t
ime and workload management including effective planning and delegation.
