This four-part webinar series equips administrators, executive directors, directors of nursing, SALSAs, department heads, compliance professionals, and other leaders in skilled nursing and assisted living with practical strategies to strengthen accountability, improve operations, and support quality outcomes. Topics include leadership accountability, third-party provider oversight, policy management, and the practical application of CMS Appendix PP.

August 12
Leaderships Role in Morning Stand-Up and Afternoon Stand-Down Meetings: What Questions Should You Be Asking?
Designed for Administrators, Executive Directors, Directors of Nursing, and department leaders in skilled nursing and long-term care, this session explores how daily leadership meetings can improve resident safety, strengthen accountability, enhance communication, and support regulatory compliance. Participants will learn practical strategies for leading effective stand-up and stand-down meetings, identifying emerging risks, and aligning daily operations with CMS Appendix PP, QAPI, and survey readiness expectations.

Designed for Administrators, Executive Directors, Directors of Nursing, SALSAs, Social Services, Admissions professionals, and other leaders in skilled nursing and assisted living, this session examines how effective hospice partnerships can strengthen resident care, documentation, communication, and regulatory compliance. Participants will gain practical strategies for improving third-party provider oversight, clarifying responsibilities, and supporting survey readiness through stronger interdisciplinary collaboration.

Key Learning Outcomes:
•  Identify CMS Appendix PP, Connecticut, and Rhode Island regulatory concepts that shape third-party provider oversight.
•  Clarify facility and hospice roles in resident assessment, service delivery, care planning, communication, and documentation.
•  Use hospice documentation to support clinically unavoidable decline and survey-ready service delivery evidence.

Designed for Administrators, Executive Directors, Directors of Nursing, compliance professionals, educators, department heads, and quality leaders across long-term care and assisted living, this session provides practical guidance for keeping policies current, responding to regulatory changes, and ensuring written policies align with everyday practice. Participants will learn strategies to strengthen policy oversight, staff education, competency validation, compliance monitoring, and survey readiness.

•  Identify regulatory and operational triggers that require policy review and revision.
•  Recognize high-risk policy areas that affect resident safety, compliance, and survey outcomes.
•  Develop effective policy management systems including ownership, version control, and oversight.

Proper Use of Appendix PP at the Department Head Level
Designed for department heads, Administrators, Executive Directors, Directors of Nursing, clinical leaders, and QAPI professionals in skilled nursing, this session provides practical strategies for using CMS Appendix PP as a daily operational tool rather than simply a survey preparation resource. Participants will learn how to interpret regulatory expectations, strengthen compliance monitoring, improve audits, and integrate Appendix PP into everyday leadership and performance improvement efforts.

•  Navigate Appendix PP and interpret surveyor expectations with confidence.
•  Identify high-risk F-Tags and department-specific compliance responsibilities.
•  Use Appendix PP standards to improve audits, monitoring, and survey readiness.
•  Integrate compliance efforts into QAPI and performance improvement initiatives.
•  Develop practical action plans to reduce survey risk and enhance resident outcomes.

A registered nurse by background, he has held senior roles including CEO of a national hospice organization and consultant with KPMG’s Senior Services practice. He brings deep operational and regulatory expertise across Life Plan communities, assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care, and hospice settings.

Hallie DeCapp, RN; Senior Clinical and Operations Consultant of Long Hill, with over 26 years of clinical and management experience. She is a dedicated healthcare professional delivering excellent patient care, nursing operations, and regulatory compliance. She has extensive knowledge of medical illnesses and treatments, policies and procedures, and Long Term and Skilled Nursing standards of care.
