Expert Outbreak Management for the Infection Preventionist

This session is part of an 8-week webinar series emphasizes skill building for the Post-Acute Care Infection Preventionist with a focus on establishing and managing an effective IPC program in the SNF/LTC/AL setting. This session will discuss IP’s role in investigating, preventing, and control outbreaks.

Projected Learning Outcomes/Course Objectives: At the conclusion of each session, the learner will:

1. Describe the steps used in investigating outbreaks in the nursing facility

2. Describe measures used to control and prevent outbreaks in the nursing facility

3. Identify infection prevention practices to assess during an outbreak
